Nationwide vehicle shipping from our Plano, TX dealership, coordinated by eCarOne through insured transport partners, whether or not you finance with eCarOne.
Why All Shipping Must Be Arranged Through eCarOne
To protect our customers and their vehicles, all vehicle shipping must be arranged through eCarOne. We do not release vehicles to brokers booked independently or to transport companies arranged by the customer.
An online shipping quote can make transporting a vehicle seem simple. But the company accepting your reservation may be a broker that assigns your vehicle to a separate carrier. That means the company you booked with may not be the company that actually picks up your car.
Brokers play a legitimate role in vehicle transportation, including through our established shipping partners. The risk comes from booking through an unfamiliar company without knowing who will transport your vehicle, whether their credentials are authentic, or what insurance protection actually applies.
Criminals exploit these gaps by impersonating legitimate brokers and carriers, using stolen business credentials, presenting fraudulent insurance documents, or changing delivery instructions to divert a shipment. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) specifically warns that even insurance certificates can be fraudulent.
eCarOne works exclusively with established, reputable vehicle shipping companies. Our partners coordinate insured transportation, with protection for covered damage or loss subject to the applicable policy's terms, limits, and exclusions. You get a familiar point of contact throughout the process, and if a concern arises, our team helps coordinate with the transport partner.
Transport Fraud: A Real and Costly Risk
Recent industry reporting shows why choosing a trusted shipping partner matters:
Nearly $725 million in estimated cargo theft losses in 2025, a 60% increase over 2024, according to Verisk CargoNet reporting across the United States and Canada.
Estimated cargo theft losses in the second quarter of 2026, more than double the same quarter in 2025, even as reported theft incidents declined, according to Verisk CargoNet.
Fraud reports recorded by the Transportation Intermediaries Association's Watchdog platform from September 2024 through February 2025, 65% more than the previous reporting period, even though that period was two months longer.
These figures reflect broader freight and logistics activity across many types of cargo. They are not counts of stolen vehicles or vehicle shipping fraud alone.

Open or Enclosed Transport
All vehicles ship on an open carrier unless enclosed transport is requested.

Open Carrier Standard
Most vehicles ship on an open carrier, the most common way vehicles are shipped. Your vehicle is secured on the trailer and its condition is documented at pickup and delivery.

Enclosed Transport Additional Charge
Available on request for added protection from weather and road debris. Enclosed transport is priced separately from open carrier shipping. Ask your advisor for a quote.
How Delivery Works
Most deliveries are made door to door, as long as the carrier can safely and legally reach your location. Large transport trucks may not be able to enter some residential roads because of overhanging trees, low bridges, narrow streets, tight turns, or local restrictions.
If your address can't be safely reached, the carrier will contact you to set up delivery at a nearby location they can access, such as a large parking lot.
Delivery Day: What to Do and What to Avoid
A careful inspection at delivery protects you and keeps the records you'll need if a transport damage claim is ever filed.
✓ Do
- Schedule delivery during daylight hours. Make sure you have enough light and time to inspect the vehicle thoroughly.
- Inspect the vehicle before signing any delivery paperwork. Walk around the entire vehicle and check the bumpers, body panels, wheels, glass, mirrors, and roof. Check the interior as well.
- Take clear photos at delivery. Photograph every side of the vehicle and take detailed photos of any damage or concerns.
- Compare the vehicle's condition with the pickup condition report and any photos you have. Ask the driver to go over any differences with you.
- Record any damage on the delivery condition report or Bill of Lading before signing. Be specific about where the damage is and what kind it is, and keep a copy of the completed document.
- Contact eCarOne right away if you notice damage or have a delivery concern. Send us your photos and delivery paperwork so we can work with the transport partner.
- Be available by phone. Carriers may need to confirm arrival times or arrange a nearby meeting spot.
- Confirm you received the keys and any accessories included with your purchase. Note any missing items and let eCarOne know promptly.
✗ Don't
- Don't accept delivery late at night. Darkness can hide scratches, dents, wheel damage, and other issues. If the carrier's arrival time is too late for a proper inspection, contact the carrier and eCarOne to set up a daytime delivery.
- Don't sign a clean condition report before inspecting the vehicle. Your signature may confirm the vehicle's condition at delivery.
- Don't rely on a verbal promise that damage will be handled later. Write the concern on the delivery paperwork before signing.
- Don't let anyone rush your inspection. Take the time you need to check the vehicle carefully.
- Don't arrange repairs for suspected transport damage before speaking with eCarOne and the transport partner. The claims process may require more photos, an inspection, or repair estimates.
- Don't send unexpected payments or agree to a change of delivery address without confirming directly with eCarOne. Reach your advisor using the dealership contact information you already have.
Inspect First. Document Any Concerns. Then Sign.
Writing down damage before you sign is one of the most important steps in supporting a transport damage claim. Signing a clean delivery receipt can make a claim harder. All coverage and claim decisions are subject to the applicable insurance policy and transport agreement.
